Baptisms are Family Celebrations
Baptism is a welcoming of the newest little family member into the the big-C church and the community at large. It takes a village to raise a child (it sure has with mine)! Baptism marks the community’s welcome for this new human being and a commitment to help them search for his or her own spirituality and connection to a higher power. This baptism ritual of the church has a long and rich history but may have a unique meaning for each family. Whatever that meaning is, I know that the baptism is a family celebration. It is a chance to come together as family: parents, grandparents, godparents, and friends to celebrate this beautiful new human! I love photographing baptisms – I am honored to be part of this family celebration.
Celebrating with the Urech Family
Danielle wanted to capture her daughter’s baptism and family celebration following. We met at the church and I was able to get some great shots during the baptism. I love the first shot below of the GodFather kissing her on the cheek. What a sweet moment that she’ll be able to look back on in the years to come. And the very last image where, again, he’s holding her and she’s just smiling away. Absolutely precious! Mark these family celebrations with a professional photographer.
