Why choose a branding session?

A branding session is different than a headshot session. While both capture headshots, the focus of a branding session is to create a portfolio of images that you can use on websites, marketing, social media, etc. and keep your content fresh. You’ll have a suite of amazing images to share with potential clients so that they know what it’s like to work with you. For small business owners, this means showing off your products, services, location, etc. in a way that makes you the friend down the street with a business. Realtors have images that show you in a beautiful home ready to help clients sell of buy their new dream home. With corporate clients, a branding session can include “working shots”, group photos, outdoor headshots and much more. Great content for websites and marketing materials.

Recent Branding Sessions

My sessions with Asheley and Nicole were just amazing! Each had hair and makeup done and met me at a model home for their branding session. As realtors, they know the value of professional photography and the impact that these images have on their brand. AND we had so much fun! Working in model homes is a treat because everything is beautifully staged and clean. They each now have a set of photos to use on social media to promote the business!

Headshots and branding photos… aren`t they basically the same thing? 📸

Not quite! While both are meant to represent you professionally, they serve different purposes.

Professional headshots are typically more traditional and polished. Think head-and-shoulders portraits with a clean studio backdrop or a professional office setting. They`re perfect for LinkedIn profiles, company websites, business cards, and anywhere you need a professional first impression.

Branding photography, on the other hand, tells a bigger story!

We`re talking full-body portraits, candid moments, interactive shots, and photos of you doing what you do best. Branding sessions can absolutely include headshots, too, but often with more personality and environmental elements that reflect your business.

The biggest difference? A headshot shows people who you are. Branding photography helps show them what you do and what it`s like to work with you.

And depending on your business and goals, you might benefit from both!

One of the sweetest parts of being a photographer? Getting to watch families grow right in front of my camera. 🤍

I’ve had the privilege of photographing this beautiful family several times over the years, and now their family has grown to include three sweet kiddos!

It’s so special to look back at previous sessions and see just how much has changed. New little faces, growing personalities, and so many memories made along the way.

And honestly, this is one of my favorite things about what I do.

I have families who come back year after year for updated portraits. I’ve photographed kids as they grow up, celebrated their senior year with them, and even welcomed some of those same familiar faces back for professional headshots as they begin their careers.

Getting to be a small part of all those different chapters in someone’s life is something I’ll never take for granted.

Because these aren’t just photos. They’re little pieces of your family’s story that you get to hold onto forever. 🤍

And to every family who continues to trust me with those memories, thank you. It truly means so much!
