5 Tips to optimize your website to represent your brand

Your website is the first place that your potential customers, clients, and patients see you (the company).  You are the company.  And you are the brand for your company.  No matter what business you are in.  A website that represents your brand is crucial to the success of your message.  Here are a few things to consider when designing and maintaining your website.

  1. Define your brand.  A brand is so much more than just your logo.  Branding involves your style, the colors you use, and feel of your space.  It’s how you communicate with your clients.  Even how you dress to meet clients is important to your brand.
  2. Create a professional website.  If you use a template, make sure that it’s formatted correctly.  Hire someone to create your website if you’re not comfortable doing it on your own.  It’s that important!
  3. Use your brand consistently across your website and marketing materials.  Color, style, tone, and feel should move seamlessly across all communications.
  4. Hire a professional photographer for your headshot and office photos.  We are a visual society and being able to see high-quality images of you (the brand) and the office and staff will raise the client’s confidence in dealing with you in the future.  Create an “About me” or “Meet the team” tab on your website to display these images.
  5. View your website as an end user.  Better yet, get a friend to view your website and provide feedback on it.  Can it be easily navigated?  Can you contact the company quickly?  Do you get a feel for the person(s) behind the logo?

The Woodlands Yoga Studio

The Woodlands Yoga Studio has been serving the The Woodlands and the surrounding areas with Hatha Yoga classes since 2004. They offer a wide variety of yoga classes to the community taught by some of the highest trained instructors available.  The Studio is dedicated to supporting people of all ages and from all walks of life in their quest for a better lifestyle.  They do this with love, compassion and a sense of humor and with respect for what each individual can accomplish through their yoga practice.

I was on assignment for LIVING Magazine when I met Sue, the owner of The Woodlands Yoga Studio.  She arrived at the studio early to prepare for our photo session.  We got a couple of quick headshots of her and a few of the instructors.  Then class began and I watched as they warmed up and began the practice.  Yoga is not easy.  It requires core strength and balance.  I was certainly impressed with the action shots that we captured during class!
