On-Site Headshots in Action: A Recent Event at Hugo’s

I was recently invited to photograph a vibrant gathering of travel agents at Hugo’s in Houston. The event had a wonderful buzz—great food, lively conversation, and plenty of networking. I set up a small, casual headshot station in a quiet corner of the venue, offering attendees a chance to update their professional photos on the spot.

The outcome? A relaxed and fun experience for everyone, and each guest walked away with a fresh, polished image they could use immediately. It was a win for both the event hosts and the guests.

Why On-Site Headshots Work So Well

1. It’s Convenient for Your Team
When your team is already gathered for a meeting, retreat, or happy hour, it just makes sense to take advantage of that moment. No need to coordinate separate appointments or ask employees to take time off.

2. It Creates a Cohesive Look
On-site headshots allow for consistent lighting, background, and editing—which gives your company a polished, unified visual presence across your website, LinkedIn, and other platforms.

3. It Adds Value to Your Event
Providing on-site headshots is a thoughtful, practical perk that attendees genuinely appreciate. It shows your team you care about their professional image, while elevating the tone of your event.

4. It’s Quick and Low-Stress
I bring a compact setup designed to fit your space, whether it’s a conference room, restaurant corner, or open office. Sessions are relaxed, approachable, and efficient—no stiff poses or high-pressure vibes.

5. You Get More Than Just Headshots
In addition to the headshot station, I often capture candid event moments. These images are gold for your marketing, newsletters, and social media. You’ll walk away with a rich gallery of content.

Plus, your team will feel more connected and appreciated when they’re offered a professional experience in a familiar setting.

Real Results: What Happened at Hugo’s

At Hugo’s, travel agents left with new headshots that were perfect for their websites, social profiles, and business cards. Even though the setting was casual, the portraits were polished and professional. It turned a simple gathering into a meaningful branding opportunity for every guest.

The feedback was fantastic—attendees felt confident, cared for, and genuinely excited to update their online presence.

Could This Work for Your Next Event?

Absolutely. I work with corporate teams, small businesses, networking groups, and creative professionals. Whether it’s a lunch-and-learn, a leadership retreat, or a happy hour, on-site headshots can be tailored to fit the vibe and the space.

Indoor or outdoor, formal or laid-back, I’ll bring everything needed to create a smooth, enjoyable experience.

Let’s Make It Easy

Headshots don’t have to be a hassle. With an on-site setup, we meet your team where they are—literally—and create something valuable for everyone involved.

The experience is not only practical—it’s enjoyable. People relax when they’re in familiar surroundings. They smile more easily, feel more at ease, and it shows in the final images. You’ll have a team that looks and feels their best, with headshots that reflect their true personalities.

Whether you’re planning a small team meeting or a large-scale company event, consider adding on-site headshots to the mix. It’s a thoughtful gesture that pays off in professionalism, morale, and long-lasting value.

I put together a Guide to Photography Gear for those of you who need some help deciding what is actually worth investing in (and what's not). The link is in my bio!

Lighting is one of those things that feels complicated when you’re starting out… but it doesn’t have to be.

At the end of the day—light is light.

You don’t need the most expensive setup to get good results. What matters more is having something reliable that you understand how to use.

Especially if you’re shooting outside… the last thing you want is a $2,000 light going down in the wind.

Start simple.
Focus on gear you can trust.
And build from there.

Curious—what lighting setup are you using right now?
My Photographer Gear Guide is linked in my bio if you’re trying to figure out what’s actually worth investing in when you’re first starting out.

Because the truth is—you don’t need everything right away.

When you’re new, it’s easy to feel like you need all the gear… but really, it comes down to a few key pieces.

A solid camera body and a really good lens will take you further than a full bag of equipment you don’t know how to use yet.

If you’re deciding where to spend your money, start there.

A 24–70mm or 70–200mm lens will cover more than you think—and give you the flexibility to shoot a wide range of sessions without overcomplicating things.

Curious—what was the first piece of gear you invested in?
‼️ No clients (or videographers) were harmed in the making of this video 🤣

(For the record—this is very much a joke.)

But if you are a photographer, you know the real challenge isn’t getting someone in front of the camera… it’s knowing how to guide them once they’re there.

Small adjustments = big difference in how confident and natural someone looks.

And having a go-to posing flow makes everything feel easier—for you and your client. (so you don't resort to violence 😉)

➡️ I put together a Headshot Posing Flow Cheat Sheet to help with exactly that—link in bio.
A quick look at the people and brands I had the chance to photograph this month 👇🏻

Grateful for every person and team that trusted me to capture this season of their business.

Each session is different, but the goal is always the same—to create images that actually represent you well and support where you’re going next.

If you’ve been thinking about updating your headshot or branding photos, now is a great time to get it scheduled before things get busy later in the year.
