Extended Family Portrait Session

The holidays are a great time to gather with friends and family!  It’s time to plan an extended family portrait session.  First, let everyone know about the family portrait and talk to your photographer.  Give the family some guidelines on what to wear.  Then, gather everyone for the portrait and meet your photographer at the decided location.  Finally, relax and have fun knowing that you’ll have a beautiful extended family portrait!  Grandparents, parents, kids, grandkids and great-grandkids can all participate and be part of the family.

A beautifully printed and framed portrait of the extended family is an heirloom and can be passed down from generation to generation.  It is so important to preserve these memories.  Our family heritage is an integral part of where we came from and of who we are today.  When you look at the family portrait and notice the same grin or expression in your baby’s face as your own or your parents, what a gift!  We are connected through family and love.  Cherish those relationships and plan for an extended family portrait session for your own family.

Grandpa

I recently photographed an extended family where Grandpa was center of attention.  He literally kept me laughing the entire photo shoot!  He was funny and outgoing and gave everyone a hard time in a playful and fun way.  Grandpa very much wanted a portrait of himself with all of the grandchildren.  This is a very special photo for him and the whole reason for this family photo session.  In fact, in our first session two of the grandkids were missing so we had a second session to make sure those two were present.  In the end, I love that he wanted this portrait and that we could create something meaningful for him and his family.
