Small business owners fulfill many roles in the business! We run the business, do the accounting, fill the coffee pot, sweep the floors, send out mailers, and market. Most importantly, we are the face of the business! Networking with others and meeting people means that we are the business. Whether it’s you in person or on your website or in marketing materials, make sure you put your best forward all the time. Your small business headshots are crucial to the appearance and friendliness of your business. If your headshot is out of date, out of focus, dark, or a cut-out of a group photo, you are NOT putting your best professional self forward. Contact a professional photographer who specializes in headshots. If you’re just getting into headshot photography, it’s easy to feel like you need everything to get started.

You don’t.

A solid light setup, a reliable camera, and a lens you can trust will take you a lot further than you think.

📸 For me, that looks like a Nikon Z7II mirrorless camera + a 70–200mm lens, paired with a simple lighting setup that keeps things consistent and professional.

It’s not about having the most gear — it’s about having the right setup and knowing how to use it.
