Women-Owned Businesses
The number and success of women-owned businesses is growing in America. According to the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, women own 4 out of every 10 businesses in the U.S. As of 2018, there were 12.3 million women-owned companies in the U.S. as compared to 402,000 in 1972. Women are a major part of the business industry in the United States and it seems to be growing. Small businesses are a big part of this. Women should empower other women to do what they love and enjoy financial success along the way. As a photographer, I am part of local, regional, and national groups of photographers (men and women) who support each other and help to build and foster the industry. It’s important to me that other women find success in their businesses, whatever the industry. I hope that you will support a women-owned small business the next time you have the opportunity.

Roxana is my hair and makeup artist. I’ve known her for years and we’ve worked together more lately than ever before. She started selling the makeup that she uses – Limelife by Alcone. I’ve started using the products as well and I love them! She can tell you all about the benefits of using the products. The success, though, that she has achieved in a very little time is amazing. Roxana has built an entire team of consultants and they are supporting each other, each with their own small business. We did a photo session for the team so everyone could have a headshot and then we took several group shots as well. About the group photo, Roxana says, “I see love, unity, teamwork, dedication and a group of strong like-minded women! I never intended to build a team when I embarked on this journey but let me tell you it’s been the most magical part about this…but most of all it has allowed me to dream again and have these wonderful women in my life!”
