Variety in Your Acting Headshots
When planning your acting headshot session, consider variety in your clothing, posing, and facial expressions. These subtle changes will create a portfolio of images that show your range of capabilities. For actors, this can mean the difference between landing that perfect part or not! If you show a sweet innocent headshot for that sweet girl next door role, you have a better probability of landing that part. If you show a confident and slightly sassy headshot for the head cheerleader role, it’s a perfect match. Talk to your photographer about the types of roles that you like to play and what you’d like to convey in your headshots. We can certainly plan the session to capture this type of variety.
Headshots for Sophie
Sophie and I had a great, creative session for her acting headshots! She had a variety of clothing options to choose from and we planned the session around the clothing and her expressions. We also created a range of cropped images – some closer in to get the best facial view and then some further out to show her body. Casting directors will base decisions for parts on all of these factors. Sophie made a great selection of images to build her portfolio. When a new part comes up, she will have a headshot to grab and submit for the part. Break a leg, Sophie!
