Portrait
Whether it’s a headshot or family or senior, a portrait is an important piece of history. A superb portrait is one that is carefully planned and executed according to the vision of the artist and subject. Ideally, the two work together towards this common goal of the portrait. For a headshot, it is important for the subject to convey a vision for what they hope the end result will be. The artist can then use the technical tools of lighting and camera to create the portrait. Just as important are the softer skills of posing and creating a natural expression. This will result in a portrait that truly represents the subject. This is the greatest compliment to the artist – that someone looks their truest and best!
Headshots for Thersa
What an honor to photograph a fellow respected photographer! Thersa asked me about updating her headshot for her photography business. Since we already knew each other, it was an easy yes! She’s in the process of updating her website and wanted a fresh, gorgeous new headshot to go along with the new look. We had Roxana do hair and makeup and then started on the session. We started with some studio shots (studio lighting and background). Then we moved to natural light and caught some amazing expressions and posing. Thersa had a hard time deciding on favorites but ultimately chose a few that truly represent her and her fun personality! I wish you continued success, Thersa in your business!
