Planning the Perfect Headshot

Like many things in life, the success of something is highly dependent upon the planning stage of the process.  Planning the perfect headshot is no different.  At Tara Flannery Photography, we walk through the planning and execution of your headshot together to ensure the best results.  First, we plan for location, backgrounds, and wardrobe.  We discuss your brand, website, and the ultimate goals for your headshots.  Then during the session, we use lighting, posing, and facial expression to convey the message that fits your personality and style.  Depending on your job and role, we may a particular mood or style.  It’s important that lawyers look a certain way and that’s different than psychologists or realtors.  Your personality will also determine the mood for the headshot.  Some people are shy and reserved while others are more outgoing and forward.  Finally, we decide on an image that reflects the very best you.  This image is edited and retouched and delivered as your final headshot.

Headshots for Erika

Erika planned for her perfect headshot.  She researched posing, backgrounds, and styles and was able to effectively communicate those to me through several images.  She knew the look and feel that she wanted for her headshot!  Roxana Phillips provided professional hair and makeup services.  During the session, Erika changed outfits and we changed lighting and backgrounds to give her a variety of options to choose her final image.  We had lots of fun along the way creating together.  She’s still deciding on her final images but I loved these two.  These images are professional yet soft and very personable.
