Modern Executive Headshots

For a modern take on the standard headshot, consider a few key things before your next headshot session! First, wardrobe is key for the modern headshot. The new CEO look is a button down or blouse with a jacket. For this look, no tie or buttoned up look is required. It says professional yet approachable. Next, consider the image orientation. A landscape image lends itself more readily to today’s digital marketplace. Most social media profile images are a square format. The landscape image keeps both shoulders in the image and cropping to a square is easy. Finally, planning for the background or environment behind you in the headshot makes a big impact on it’s overall feel. Some companies are moving to a more environmental feel for headshots. This can be done in the office or can be done in post-production if your office doesn’t lend itself to the right aesthetic.
