Interfaith Celebrates 45 Years of Caring

Interfaith of The Woodlands celebrated 45 years of caring at their annual gala on October 6, 2018.  I had the honor of photographing guests as they arrived for this special occasion.  Dressed in beautiful gowns and suits, this community came together to raise money for a most worth organization.

“We, people of faith, called by our traditions to compassion have created an organization where we gather in mutual respect, dialogue and cooperative action to provide a connection between communities of faith and the community at large.”

Interfaith serves The Woodlands community and helps provide for those in need.  In 2017, the organization helped over 47,000 individuals with rides for seniors, meals, school supplies, and clothing.

Event Photography

As a Houston Event Photographer, I love to be with people and capture the special moments of an event!  My favorite thing is to see the beauty in a tiny detail during an event.  You might see me running to get my macro lens and then carrying a couple of cameras around to get that one special moment.  And then a smile, a laugh shared between friends.  Perfection!  And I’ll chat with folks and joke along the way too!

First birthday parties, galas, corporate events, and anniversary parties are just a few of the events that we cover at Tara Flannery Photography.  We also photograph baptisms, first Communions, and other religious celebrations.  Your event is so special and you’ve worked really hard on planning all of the details.  Let us capture those details, smiles, and laughter so you can enjoy the celebration!

🚫 Let’s talk wardrobe no-nos for headshots.

I want you to look polished, confident, and distraction-free in your photos—and sometimes that means skipping certain outfit choices.

For men:

❌ No undershirts peeking through

❌ If you’re wearing a tie, make sure your shirt buttons all the way up

❌ If it doesn’t, we’re ditching the tie

For women:

❌ Skip the sleeveless tops—your arms will compete with your face for attention

✅ A sleeve (even short) helps keep the focus where it belongs—on YOU

The goal? A clean, intentional look that draws people in and keeps their attention right where it should be—your face.

📸 Save this before your session so you can show up ready and confident.

Yep, even the most beautiful photo can fall flat if it’s not framed for the platform it’s on.

Here are 3 common cropping mistakes I see all the time (and how to fix them):

1️⃣ Too Close – When there’s no breathing room, the image feels cramped and overly intense.

2️⃣ Too Far – If we can’t clearly see your face, we lose the connection instantly.

3️⃣ Wrong Shape for the Platform – That rectangle you uploaded to LinkedIn? It just became a circle... and cut off half your head.

✨ The fix? Intentional cropping before you upload—so your headshot looks polished, professional, and approachable everywhere.
