Working my way through college, at the University of Colorado at Boulder – Go Buffs!!, as a server and bartender had a major influence on the way I serve clients today. I worked at a casual fine dining restaurant and most of the patrons were not familiar with the cuisine or many of the wines; this was before the movie “Sideways” came out so no one was drinking Pinot Noir in the states. I truly enjoyed educating patrons about what we had to offer and helping them take a culinary journey. “Haricot Vert is just a French way of saying green beans” was a common phrase for me.
Now, in wealth management, it’s the same idea, but the stakes are much higher!
