Headshot Hair and Makeup

At Tara Flannery Photography, we offer headshot hair and makeup to all headshot clients.  We highly recommend using a hair and makeup artist for the headshot session but it is not a requirement.  You can use your own hair and makeup artist or one of mine.  A good hair and makeup artist knows the right amount of makeup and tones for a headshot session.  Makeup is very natural and professional.  The application is usually a little more than you would normally wear.  That little extra blush and lip color will be much appreciated, especially with studio lighting.  Professional makeup also reduces shine and creates a nice matte look to the skin.  The addition of eyelashes also makes the eyes pop.  Hair should be clean and dry when you arrive for the artist.  She will ask about how you typically style your hair for the office and will take it from there.  Feel free to ask for any changes while she she’s there.  We all want you to be happy with the resulting headshots.

Headshots for Heather

Heather came to the studio for hair and makeup before her headshot session.  I love the tones in the makeup and the application.  Her hair was a breeze to style since it held the gentle curl beautifully.  She needed an updated headshot for her new real estate business.  We tried a couple of different looks with backgrounds and tops.  She ultimately settled on this natural light setup and her black dress.  A gorgeous combination!  She can crop this headshot tighter for her LinkedIn profile or leave it a little wider for other marketing materials as needed.
