Not all photographers specialize in headshots.  Can all photographers do a headshot?  Probably.  But a photographer that specializes in headshots will know the lighting, posing, and angles appropriate for a business headshot.  Experience with headshots is critical when searching for a photographer for your next corporate shoot.  It’s difficult to get everyone together for headshots and coordinate the day.  Make sure that the headshot day is successful by asking your headshot photographer a few questions.

  2. How long have you been in business and what is your experience with headshots?
  3. Do you have any photographic certifications?

Corporate Headshots for Renovatio Clinical

Randa contacted me as she was searching for a headshot photographer.  After doing some research online about the company, we discussed the options and scheduling for the office headshots.  Since the website is very clean (white and blue colors), we opted for a clean white background for the headshots.  After setting up in a conference room in the office, I was about to photograph all of the staff and the leadership.  Randa organized everyone and called them in as I finished with each person.  Then we took some group photos in the office lobby.  A plain white wall was the perfect backdrop for these group photos.  With a little planning, the headshots were quite successful for Renovatio Clinical.

You don’t need the most expensive gear to be a good photographer.

When I first started, I thought I needed everything—top-tier camera, expensive lighting, all of it.

The reality?

A solid camera and a good lens will take you a long way.

If you’re just starting out, keep it simple:
✨ A versatile zoom lens (24–70mm or 70–200mm)
✨ Gear you can rely on and learn inside and out

And when it comes to lighting—especially outdoors—don’t overinvest too early.

Wind happens. Gear gets knocked over. Things break.

Light is light.

Focus on learning how to use what you have before worrying about upgrading everything.
