Headshot Branding Session

Sometimes you need more than just a headshot.  With corporate sessions, a headshot may be all that you need.  But small businesses are different.  In a small business, you wear many hats and fulfill many roles.  And your website may be all about you as the owner and operator of the business.  If that’s the case, you’ll want a variety of images on your website.  With a headshot branding session, we can create different looks that will coordinate beautifully with your website and tell the story of your brand.  A standard headshot is always a good idea.  Then we can change wardrobe and capture environmental headshots, full body shots, and action shots.  The images that I call “action shots” are great for showing what you do on a daily basis.  If you are a financial advisor, let’s set up an image with you and a client working together on a financial plan for her future.  Whatever the business, it’s great to show potential clients the real space and people that they will see when they do business with you.

A Branding Session with Stephanie and Aaron

Aaron contacted me about a headshot branding session for his financial and life advisory business.  He needed new images for his website and marketing materials.  He also mentioned that his wife needed a new headshot for her company (unrelated to his business).  So we chatted over the phone about a plan for our session.  We would meet and do some regular studio headshots in the office and then we could create additional shots around the office and outdoors.  What a great session!  We found a very cool spot in the office with the lights in the background that we all loved.  In the end, Stephanie and Aaron both have the business shots that they needed along with additional poses with some really great, interesting backgrounds.  And the “action shot” at the end is a bonus and will be a great addition to Aaron’s website.  All my best, you guys!

But in all seriousness—photographers love a good piece of gear.

And it’s really easy to convince yourself that the next upgrade is what’s going to take your work to the next level.

Sometimes that’s true.

If a piece of equipment makes your workflow smoother, more efficient, or solves a real problem for you—it’s worth every penny.

But if it’s just shiny, new, and replacing something that already works… it can probably wait.

The goal isn’t to have more gear—it’s to have the right gear for how you actually shoot.

🔗 If you’re trying to figure out what’s actually worth investing in, I put together a Photographer Gear Guide that breaks it all down—link in bio.

🤔 Curious… what’s one piece of equipment you’ve bought that was 100% worth it?
A small snapshot of the teams I’ve worked with recently 📸👇🏻

Headshots are one of those things that are easy to put off… until you realize your photos no longer reflect where you are now.

Outdated images, inconsistent team photos, or a mix of styles across platforms can quietly take away from how your brand is perceived.

A headshot refresh doesn’t have to be complicated—it just needs to be intentional.

If your team’s photos haven’t been updated in a while, this is a good time to take a look at what you’re currently using.

Some of my favorite senior photos always include something personal.

Instruments, sports gear, pets, cars—these are the details that make your photos feel like you.

Senior sessions aren’t just about getting a few good pictures—they’re about capturing this season in a way that feels real and meaningful.

And with senior year right around the corner, now is the time to start thinking about it.

Spots tend to fill up quickly once the school year gets going, so planning ahead makes all the difference.

“Pick something you’d do for free…” It sounds simple—but building a career around it is anything but.

There’s a lot that goes into turning photography into something sustainable—learning your craft, understanding lighting, figuring out your gear, working with clients, and continuing to grow.

But if you’re willing to put in the time, it’s one of the most rewarding things you can do.

If you’re just getting started, I have a few free resources to help you figure out what actually matters (and what doesn’t).

🔗 You can grab them with the link in my bio.
At the end of the day, it’s not about the title—it’s about what the photos actually do for you.

For most teams, the hardest part isn’t getting the photos taken… it’s coordinating everything around it.

Schedules, availability, keeping the look consistent across everyone—it adds up quickly, and it’s usually why it gets pushed off.

That’s exactly why I created a Corporate Team Headshot Planner—to make the process simple, organized, and easy to execute from start to finish.
