Great Headshots

Your next headshot session can be wildly successful! Here are a few tips:

Plan the background and feel for the headshots with your photographer ahead of time. Do you want a standard studio shot, or an environmental shot, or outdoors?
Plan wardrobe for yourself or the entire staff. People don’t need to match but having a consistent style makes the headshots more uniform. Or maybe you’d prefer a more creative look where everyone wears something different, that’s fine too. Just decide what on style (casual, formal, or somewhere in between) and communicate that to the team. If you are an individual, plan for a formal option and at least one casual option too. Make sure that the wardrobe is clean and pressed. Finally, wardrobe should fit properly and not be too big or too snug.
Take a deep breath and relax! I like to chat a bit with my headshot clients if time allows so that I can get to know you and so that you have a few minutes to relax. The genuine smiles and expressions come when you allow yourself to relax and just be in the moment.
