As a Houston Event Photographer, I love to be with people and capture the special moments of an event! My favorite thing is to see the beauty in a tiny detail during an event. You might see me running to get my macro lens and then carrying a couple of cameras around to get that one special moment. And then a smile, a laugh shared between friends. Perfection! And I'll chat with folks and joke along the way too.
First birthday parties, galas, corporate events, and anniversary parties are just a few of the events that we cover at Tara Flannery Photography. We also photograph baptisms, first Communions, and other religious celebrations. Your event is so special and you've worked really hard on planning all of the details. Let us capture those details, smiles, and laughter so you can enjoy the celebration!
Event photography is a lot of fun for me and I hope that you'll invite me to your next gathering. Call me to book your baptism, birthday party, quinceañera, milestone celebration, corporate event, or other special event. Everyone who attends the event can see the images afterwards and remember that special day too!

But in all seriousness—photographers love a good piece of gear.
And it’s really easy to convince yourself that the next upgrade is what’s going to take your work to the next level.
Sometimes that’s true.
If a piece of equipment makes your workflow smoother, more efficient, or solves a real problem for you—it’s worth every penny.
But if it’s just shiny, new, and replacing something that already works… it can probably wait.
The goal isn’t to have more gear—it’s to have the right gear for how you actually shoot.
🔗 If you’re trying to figure out what’s actually worth investing in, I put together a Photographer Gear Guide that breaks it all down—link in bio.
🤔 Curious… what’s one piece of equipment you’ve bought that was 100% worth it?
A small snapshot of the teams I’ve worked with recently 📸👇🏻
Headshots are one of those things that are easy to put off… until you realize your photos no longer reflect where you are now.
Outdated images, inconsistent team photos, or a mix of styles across platforms can quietly take away from how your brand is perceived.
A headshot refresh doesn’t have to be complicated—it just needs to be intentional.
If your team’s photos haven’t been updated in a while, this is a good time to take a look at what you’re currently using.
📩 If you’re ready for a headshot refresh, you can book a consultation through the link in my bio.
Some of my favorite senior photos always include something personal.
Instruments, sports gear, pets, cars—these are the details that make your photos feel like you.
Senior sessions aren’t just about getting a few good pictures—they’re about capturing this season in a way that feels real and meaningful.
And with senior year right around the corner, now is the time to start thinking about it.
Spots tend to fill up quickly once the school year gets going, so planning ahead makes all the difference.
If you’re ready to start planning your senior session, you can book a consultation through the link in my bio.
“Pick something you’d do for free…” It sounds simple—but building a career around it is anything but.
There’s a lot that goes into turning photography into something sustainable—learning your craft, understanding lighting, figuring out your gear, working with clients, and continuing to grow.
But if you’re willing to put in the time, it’s one of the most rewarding things you can do.
If you’re just getting started, I have a few free resources to help you figure out what actually matters (and what doesn’t).
🔗 You can grab them with the link in my bio.
At the end of the day, it’s not about the title—it’s about what the photos actually do for you.
For most teams, the hardest part isn’t getting the photos taken… it’s coordinating everything around it.
Schedules, availability, keeping the look consistent across everyone—it adds up quickly, and it’s usually why it gets pushed off.
That’s exactly why I created a Corporate Team Headshot Planner—to make the process simple, organized, and easy to execute from start to finish.
📥 If updating your team’s photos has been sitting on your to-do list, this will help you finally get it done—link in bio.
If you’re planning a branding session and not sure where to start, my Branding Guide walks you through everything—from outfits to planning your shoot so your photos actually work for your business. Link in bio.
What you wear to your branding session isn’t just about looking good—it’s about representing your brand clearly.
The goal isn’t one perfect outfit.
It’s variety.
When you bring a mix of looks—something polished, something more relaxed, and something that reflects your personality—you end up with images you can actually use across your website, content, and marketing.
And the small details matter more than you think…
(hair, nails, lint, fit—those are the things that show up in photos)
A little planning ahead makes the entire session easier—and the final result that much stronger.
If you’ve been putting off a branding session because you don’t know where to start, this is your sign to start planning it out. Send me a DM when you’re ready!
