Environmental Headshots

One option for headshots is an environmental headshot.  This type of headshot involves using something other than a studio backdrop as your background.  The background could simply be the office.  Or it could be outside or another location.  Consider the look that you’re trying to achieve when thinking about an environmental headshot.  Is it important to have a professional office atmosphere or will a natural green background be better?  Your occupation and role in your company will help determine some of these factors.  Here are some examples of environmental headshots, both in the office and outside.

 

Headshots for Sterling Construction

I have photographed the leadership of Sterling Construction at their Hughes Landing office whenever the individuals are in town.  I recently photographed another leader on the Sterling Construction team.  We met in the office for the standard studio-type headshot.  Then we also got an environmental headshot using the office as background.  All of the leadership have both types of headshots, giving them options for website, social media profiles, and press releases.  I love the office environmental shot as it gives a little more information to the headshot and allows the viewer to relate to the individual.
