Corporate Volunteering
When you volunteer as a company or team, it’s a great opportunity for team-building and helping the community at the same time. A certain win-win! Volunteering in your local community food bank or shelter or resale shop is a rewarding experience. Many times, these organizations are used to working with volunteers and have a set of duties and jobs that they can give volunteers. Volunteerism is high during the last few months of the year – October, November, and December. But once January rolls around, people go back to their busy lives and miss the opportunity to continue to give and volunteer. Consider making volunteering a regular calendar entry for your group or team. If it’s regularly on the calendar, it’s more likely to happen!
Motiva at Kids Meals
I provide headshots at Motiva on a regular basis. So, when they asked if I could cover a corporate volunteer session, I was thrilled! It was so much fun watching everyone work and have a good time together. Actually, it was difficult at times to get a smile because everyone was so focused on their jobs. Kids Meals’ is an organization that provides meals for kids who otherwise wouldn’t have them. One table filled bags with granola while another table made sandwiches. The third table took the sandwiches and filled lunch bags which ultimately went into big cooler bags for delivery. Motiva hopes to do more volunteering like this in the future. Now, with the images in hand, they can show others how fun and rewarding an experience it really is!
