Seamlessly Matching Headshots

When your business adds new team members, keeping your company headshots consistent can feel like a puzzle—especially if your original photographer is no longer available. But here’s the good news: it is possible to create a polished, unified look for your team, even if some portraits were taken months (or years) apart.

Consistency in company headshots isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about reinforcing your brand’s professionalism and attention to detail. And as someone who’s photographed countless teams across Houston and beyond, I’ve fine-tuned the art of matching new headshots to existing ones.

Why Matching Company Headshots Really Matters

Your team is often the first thing people see on your website or LinkedIn page. If their photos look mismatched—with different lighting, poses, or backgrounds—it can unintentionally make your brand feel disorganized or dated.

A consistent look across all company headshots:

  • Builds trust and credibility
  • Strengthens your visual brand identity
  • Communicates professionalism and unity

Whether you’re a law firm, tech startup, or real estate team, visual consistency makes a big impression.

Yes—I Can Match Existing Headshots (Even If I Didn’t Take Them!)

One of the questions I get asked often is, “Can you match the style of the headshots we already have?”
The answer: Absolutely.

Even if I wasn’t the original photographer, I can study your current headshots to recreate the style with precision. Here’s what I focus on:

  • Lighting: Is it natural light or studio? Soft or directional?
  • Background: What’s the color, texture, and depth of field?
  • Cropping & Composition: How close is the shot? Is it framed tight or loose?
  • Posing & Expression: Is there a formal posture or a more relaxed feel?
  • Editing Style: Are the tones warm or cool? Is the image bright and airy or bold and contrasty?

With attention to these details, I can blend new photos seamlessly with your existing team images—so no one can tell who was photographed when.

How You Can Help the Process Go Smoothly

To get the best match possible, a little preparation goes a long way. Here’s what I recommend before your session:

  • Share Examples: Send 2–3 existing team headshots so I can analyze the style. I can often replicate a background using these examples, especially if they are higher resolution.
  • Communicate the Setup: If you know the background used or lighting style (natural light, studio setup, etc.), that’s super helpful—but not essential.
  • Dress the Part: Encourage your team member to wear something similar in style and tone to the rest of the team (solid colors and classic cuts are often best).
  • Location Notes: If the original images were taken in-office or against a branded wall, let me know—I can often replicate that look.

Experience That Makes It Look Effortless

With over 15 years of experience behind the camera, I understand the little things that make a big difference in headshot consistency.

Matching company headshots isn’t just about technical skill—it’s about being thoughtful. I pay close attention to the finer points: the angle of the chin, the placement of the shoulders, the warmth of the lighting… all the subtle details that help a new image blend right in.

And if you’re looking to gradually refresh or rebrand your headshots over time, I can also help guide you through that process while maintaining a polished, professional presence in the meantime.

Shooting outdoors doesn’t always mean “perfect lighting.” 👇🏻

One of the biggest challenges with natural light is inconsistency—
skin tones can shift depending on shade, surroundings, and even reflections (hello green grass 👀).

That’s why I use off-camera flash, even outside.

It helps create:
✅ consistent skin tones
✅ balanced lighting
✅ a cleaner, more polished final image

So instead of guessing what the light is doing…
I’m controlling it.

📥 If you’re a photographer trying to figure out lighting + gear, I’ve put together a guide with the setups I actually use—link in bio.
What it looks like behind the camera… vs. what you get 👇🏻

Different sessions, different people, different goals—
but always the same focus: helping you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.

Headshots, branding, families, seniors, and more… it all comes back to capturing people in a way that actually feels like them.

✨ If you’re ready to start planning your session, you can click the link in my bio.
You don’t need the most expensive gear to be a good photographer.

When I first started, I thought I needed everything—top-tier camera, expensive lighting, all of it.

The reality?

A solid camera and a good lens will take you a long way.

If you’re just starting out, keep it simple:
✨ A versatile zoom lens (24–70mm or 70–200mm)
✨ Gear you can rely on and learn inside and out

And when it comes to lighting—especially outdoors—don’t overinvest too early.

Wind happens. Gear gets knocked over. Things break.

Light is light.

Focus on learning how to use what you have before worrying about upgrading everything.

Most men think they don’t know how to pose for a headshot…

but it’s not about knowing poses.

It’s about a few simple adjustments that make you look confident and natural on camera.

A couple go-to options (like the classic “GQ” stance, arms crossed, or a relaxed lean) can completely change how you show up.

And the rest? That’s what I guide you through.

📥 If you’re also not sure what to wear, I’ve got you covered—grab my Men’s Style Guide for Headshots through the link in my bio.

📩 Ready for updated headshots? You can book through the link as well.
If you’re just getting started in photography… don’t worry about finding your niche right away.

When I first started, I photographed everything—weddings, babies, families, headshots, corporate… if someone needed photos, I was there.

And that’s how you figure it out.

You don’t find your niche by waiting—you find it by doing the work, learning what you like, and getting better with every session.

Every type of shoot teaches you something different.
Every client builds your experience.

Over time, you start to see what actually fits you—and that’s where your expertise comes from.

📥 If you’re in that phase right now, I’ve put together resources to help—covering lighting, gear, posing, and more.
