Character Headshots
Actors have slightly different needs for headshots. Sometimes an actor wants to portray a particular character for an upcoming role. Or perhaps the actor just wants to be known for a particular type of character and thus incorporate that character into one of the headshots. We can accomplish this by varying wardrobe, backgrounds, lighting, mood, and expression for the headshot session. When planning for an actor’s headshot session, discuss the role or roles with your photographer and make a plan for any character studies. The photographer can then prepare backgrounds and lighting for each headshot and change as needed. Come prepared with wardrobe for each character including changes for hair and makeup as well.
Headshots for Bekah
Bekah had a plan for three different character headshots for our session together. The first character was a sweet, yet secretive flower child. For this character, we wanted a fun, light and playful image. The next character was a more authoritative female figure…a boss type. We incorporated darker clothes, darker background and a more serious tone. Finally, we had a seductress character. Again, we matched wardrobe with a darker background and posing and expression for this character. In the end, we created three totally different looks for Bekah that she can use for various auditions. Her headshots will match the part. Casting directors will immediately know which part is best for her. All my best Bekah!
