Breakfast with Santa

Corporate events are a great opportunity to give back to your people.  The company holiday party or gathering is a simple gesture of gratitude for all of the hard work over the past year.  It’s a time to celebrate successes and look forward to the new year ahead.  Company events help to validate employees, promote creativity, boost morale, and create a more cohesive team.  All of this improvement for employees is beneficial for customers too.  They like to work with companies with positive employees.

Breakfast with Santa is a corporate event for the entire family.  Many times, the entire family is involved in a person’s work, even if indirectly.  Again, the corporate event is a great time to show appreciation and enhance the company culture.

Strike USA

This year, I was asked to photograph Breakfast with Santa for Strike USA in The Woodlands.  I partnered with another photographer who had the ability to print on site.  So, I photographed the kids sitting with Santa while he printed.  Santa was so good with the kids, knowing that some are a little afraid of Santa.  And there’s always one that is completely terrified!  After the kids saw Santa, they got a treat bag, wrote letters to Santa, and decorated cookies!  It was a great experience for the employees and their families for the holiday season.  A little Santa and some North Pole cheer goes along way to say thank you to your employees.

Shutter speed is one of those things that feels confusing… until it clicks. 😉📸

For headshots, you don’t need anything complicated — just a solid, consistent range and an understanding of how your lighting plays into it.

If you’re a new photographer trying to figure all of this out, I’ve put together a few resources to help you get started — from gear to posing and more.

Most people step in front of the camera thinking, “I have no idea what to do.”

That’s where I come in.

Every small adjustment you see here — posture, hands, angles — is intentional. It’s what turns a quick headshot into something confident and professional.

If you want to learn the poses I rely on most, I put together a guide breaking them down.

If you’re just getting into headshot photography, it’s easy to feel like you need everything to get started.

You don’t.

A solid light setup, a reliable camera, and a lens you can trust will take you a lot further than you think.

📸 For me, that looks like a Nikon Z7II mirrorless camera + a 70–200mm lens, paired with a simple lighting setup that keeps things consistent and professional.

It’s not about having the most gear — it’s about having the right setup and knowing how to use it.
