Pink Petro LAUNCH! | Houston Headshot Photographer

Katie Mehnert.  CEO and Founder of Pink Petro.  We went to high school together.  We’re friends on Facebook so I keep up with her life.  She left her corporate job and after some time and a conversation with a stranger on a plane, decided to start Pink Petro.  Within 6 weeks, with the help of Jive Software, Halliburton, and Shell, Pink Petro was off the ground and launched!  Way to go Katie!

Pink Petro is a social network for the support of women in the energy industry.  Are men members of this group?  Of course.  Real men wear pink, you know.

“Individuals, companies and organizations apply for membership [to Pink Petro].  We connect you to the best resources, content, and rich conversations because we hand select who joins. Our spam-free global platform provides all the features you’d expect from a business social community minus the noise.  (And, both women and men are welcome!)”

Pink Petro is the business social channel for women in energy.  “We unite, connect, develop, and grow women.”

Mayor Annise Parker spoke at the launch party.  She advised the group to “sharpen your ax”.  Be good at what you do, whatever it is.  AND she said to the women, “take your friends with you!”

Katie asked me to come and take headshots during the launch party.  I was thrilled!  A little nervous about taking the Mayor’s headshot, especially when there was a video camera in my face while I was shooting.  But we made it through.  And I met lots of great people who now have a headshot that they can use for their professional careers…remember no scary grey silhouettes on LinkedIn, right?

This is why good branding photos feel different 👇🏻

A strong session isn’t just about showing up and taking a few pictures.

It’s about direction.
It’s about intention.
It’s about creating images you can actually use across your business.

The end result should feel aligned—like your photos finally match the level you’re operating at now.

But here’s the part most people skip…
Before you ever step in front of the camera, you need clarity on your brand.

✅ What do you want your brand to feel like?
✅ How do you want to show up?

That’s exactly why I created my Brand Personality Workbook—to help you define that first so your photos actually work for you.

📥 Grab it through the link in my bio, then let’s plan your session.
It’s funny… people assume I’m just showing up, taking photos, and moving on.

But in reality, I’m rooting for my clients long after the session is over.

Hoping they feel more confident.
Hoping they land the opportunity.
Hoping their photos help them show up the way they’ve been wanting to.

Because it’s never just about the pictures.

📩 If you’re ready for photos that actually support where you’re going, you can book through the link in my bio.
You don’t just get a few photos…

You get a full set of images you can actually use—
for your website, your content, your launches, and everything in between.

Because as a coach, you are your brand.
And the way you show up visually matters more than most people realize.

My goal isn’t just to take good photos—
it’s to help you feel confident, natural, and aligned in how you present yourself.

📩 If you’ve been putting off branding photos, this is your sign—link in bio to start planning.
Mid-session. Camera in hand. Client in front of me…
and suddenly my camera starts throwing error codes.

I turn it off. Pull the battery. Take the card out.
Put everything back in and hope it works again.

And then it happens again.

Three memory cards failed on me during that shoot.

After that, I switched to Sony Tough cards—and haven’t had an issue since.

It’s one of those things you don’t think about… until you’re in a high-pressure moment and your gear has to perform.

📥 If you’re a photographer and want a breakdown of the gear I actually use and trust, I’ve put together a guide—link in bio.

👇🏼 But I'm curious, what cards have been working for you?
