How to pose for senior portraits
Some high school seniors worry about how to pose for their senior portraits. At Tara Flannery Photography, we will help you every step of the way, including guidance on posing. It’s really important that the final images look and feel like you! So, I will give as much or as little guidance as needed throughout the session to help you feel comfortable in front of the camera. I will often model poses for my seniors so they know exactly what I’m asking them to do. And then I may adjust the pose ever so slightly to make an even better image! And if something doesn’t feel like a good pose for you, tell me and we’ll move on to something else. I like to have a lot of variety in my images as well so we will do standing, sitting, kneeling, leaning and then do it all over again. We have fun, though, and we laugh a lot.
Recent senior portrait sessions
Collin and I had a fantastic session. He is the third senior in their family that I have photographed and it’s so cool to be part of this family and their teenagers’ history. Collin brought plenty of props and wardrobe changes so we were able to capture different looks through his session. Starting with the football gear and ending with a truck and he and his Dad built together. What a memory for these two!
Jayden had planned some of his own poses and also had some great wardrobe changes. They also brought the dog, who totally makes the photos (sorry Jayden)! And then, since he’s a musician, the keyboard came out and Jayden is totally ready for his first album with a cover image ready to go! So fun! The sunset and sky was absolutely perfect and gave us the best show.
