Happy Father’ s Day!
To all the daddies who give piggyback rides… to all the daddies who squish bugs… and to all the daddies who are their children’s knight in shining amour… we salute you! In your honor, we bring you a collection of our favorite words about dear old Dad.
A truly rich man is one whose children run into his arms when his hands are empty.
Blessed indeed is the man who hears many gentle voices call him father!
-Lydia M. Child
It is a wise father that knows his own child
Fathers build dreams out of paper airplanes, and find stars in even the stormiest skies.
A man never stands so straight as when he stoops to help a boy.
-Knights of Pythagoras
My father didn’t tell me how to live;
He lived, and let me watch him do it.
-Clarence B. Kelland
Family Craft: Dad’s Key Caddy
Give Dad a gift he can use year round that is sure to bring a smile to his face… and end those last-minute searches for the car keys!
Sand and paint a small strip of 2×4 lumber. Cut out photographs of things dad loves; sports figures, cars, and, of course, his family! Once the paint has dried, use Modge Podge decoupage paste to attach the pictures to the board, covering as much as possible. Be sure to add a final coat of paste over the top to seal the images. When dry, screw a row of small hooks into the bottom of the board and attach hanging brackets on the back. On Father’s Day, help Dad hang his new key rack near the door, making a handy and fun place to keep all the important keys…and faces!…close by.
